Hello there and Selamat Datang (Welcome). My name is Haris and I am a cyclist.
These short stories or more accurately snippets are casual observation of life in a slower pace when on a bicycle. Most of the times these stories have a Malaysian perspective or context to them but I hope you would find them appealing as well.
Please don’t take these postings too seriously as they are by no means “intellectual”. The observations are whimsical at best (ie not to be quoted for the dissertation you are trying hard to complete, unless the thesis is on the phenomena of blogs not contributing to the betterment of our society or lend philosophical discourse on the fate of humanity; although I would beg to differ!).
If you are planning to tour Malaysia on a bicycle I would love to hear from you. Please let me know if you need any assistance to navigate your way across Malaysia. Or if you have your own blog detailing your own bike adventures I would like to read your stories too.

Hello Haris..we are currently cycle touring around Bali and heading up to Malayisa in two weeks. Our plan is to traverse the east coast and cut into the Cameron highlands. Do you know if we will be able to do this without a tent? We would like to stay in guest houses along the way. Thanks for letting me know if you have any advice.

Hi Katie. Nice blog you have. I managed to get some info from friends who have toured there. All along the east coast it’s definitely possible to make do without a tent. But from Gua Musang to Cameron Highlands it is just plantations and hill forests. No accommodation.and it is 145km mostly uphill. Suggest hitch hike some sections along Gua Musang to Cameron Highlands. Many plantation trucks plying this route. You and your partner can hitch a ride with your bikes. Be careful of lorries carrying timber logs. In Cameron Highlands you can stay at Sungai Pauh. If you have a facebook account i can hook you up with the local touring community here. Hope that helps.
